About The Artist
Robert J. Wilkens
Born in El Paso Texas, Wilkens is a dedicated full-time artist living and working in San Antonio. Though he enjoys all artistic mediums including drawing, sculpting, and welding, he is an oil painter at heart. His subject matter ranges broadly from abstracts to westerns, still-lives to portraits, landscapes to surrealism, and beyond. He is well-known locally for his Day of the Dead paintings and Live Art events in venues within and surrounding San Antonio, but he also travels for competitions and commissions– his most notable being the Theater Room in The White House by former First Lady Laura Bush.
